Rafael Cagali
Chef at Da Terra** (London, United Kingdom)

Rafael Cagali's experimental cuisine is inspired by the tastes of his origins and the influences of his culinary experiences throughout his career.
A native of São Paulo, Rafael draws on his Brazilian and Italian inheritance to guide his creative vision. He lived in Italy and Spain for years, working alongside chefs such as Stefano Baiocco at A Villa Feltrinelli, Quique Dacosta, and Martín Berasategui.
He then went back to England to join Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck, and subsequently opened Fera in Claridges. Running Fera's Aulis, Rafael continued his career with Simon Rogan as head chef at Aulis.
He opened Da Terra in January 2019, and only eight months later he won his first Michelin star. It earned the second star in 2021.
